Penza freshmen for the first time got into the workshops of the machine tool factory

At the first-year students of the basic department "Metal cutting machines" of Penza State University, the academic year began not with lectures, but with real production. Future engineers were first in the workshops of the Penza machine tool factory.

Special subjects are still ahead of them, so acquaintance with the profession comes from the very beginning. Head of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of PSU Denis Kochetkov teaches students three-dimensional modeling in the Compass-3D program right on the territory of the plant.

The basic department "Metal cutting machines" appeared in 2020 thanks to the cooperation of PSU and the Penza machine tool plant. Practical training of students is based on the technical and technological capabilities of the enterprise, and experienced industrialists are attracted to work with young people. They are not only mentors but also co-authors of joint projects.
