A resident of Gorodische district was found guilty of fraud on an especially large scale. The evidence collected by investigators of the Kuznetsk interdistrict investigative department of the SU IC of Russia in the Penza region, the court considered sufficient for the verdict. In the dock was a 52-year-old entrepreneur. His case was qualified under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, in May 2023, the man turned to a friend who was also engaged in business. He told her knowingly false information: he allegedly wants to borrow money for a short time and return the entire amount, and even pay 10 percent for the use of funds. In fact, he did not intend to return the money in full.
The woman agreed. From May to November 2023, she transferred more than 45 million rubles to the convict. He kidnapped more than 31.5 million of them, abusing the trust of the victim. During the investigation, the entrepreneur fully compensated for the property damage caused. Operational support in the case was conducted by employees of the regional FSB.
The court appointed the defendant 4 years 6 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 4 years 6 months.
