The list of recipients of free legal aid will be expanded in the Kirov region
The region plans to adjust the rules for providing free legal support to the population

Issues of improving the regional law “On free legal assistance in the Kirov region” were considered at a joint meeting of the interdepartmental working group and the commission of the Public Chamber for Public Control, chaired by Marina Kopyrina.
The draft law is designed to expand the circle of citizens who rely on preferential legal services at the expense of the budget.
In particular, state legal support will be provided to parents in respect of whom cases of deprivation of parental rights are considered in court.
The innovation will ensure qualified protection of the legitimate interests of the parties in complex family disputes.
During the discussion of the initiative, the representative of the regional Ministry of Justice Elena Anatolievna Khodyreva drew the attention of the participants to the financial risks for the regional budget and the need for a stricter legal formulation of the concept of an incomplete family.
As a result, the parties agreed to clearly enshrine these criteria in the text of the document: the corresponding status will be assigned to families where the only parent raises one or more children under the age of majority.
Separately, members of the working group emphasized the territorial principle of the benefits: only citizens with official registration at the place of residence in the Kirov region will be able to use free legal services.
The final decision was made during a tense discussion - the amendments were approved by a margin of 1 vote: 3 experts voted for the proposed changes, 2 opposed.
The finalization of the text of the draft law and the coordination of its provisions with the working group was entrusted to Marina Nikolaevna Kopyrina.
In the future, the agreed normative act will be presented at the relevant commission of the Public Chamber, and then sent to the OZS and prosecutors for mandatory legal expertise.
