Pepper: wood pick is a special philosophy

The knock of axes and the fury of fans - on the shore of the Vyach reservoir, the anniversary V championship on wood picking among journalists is held, in which 37 teams take part. The unique atmosphere is woven from the unity of colleagues, excitement, strength of spirit, perseverance. First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Vladimir Pertsov shared the mood, sb.by correspondent reports.

- I have a feeling that this festival has always been, not the fifth year. The skills of the participants are constantly growing, and they are not foresters, not athletes, but journalists. Such an interesting, exciting activity combines sports and a very useful skill that can be useful to anyone in life, especially those who grew up in the city. This passion captures, unites, instills a competitive spirit. The President taught us this, and we are trying to preserve and multiply this tradition. Every year more and more teams take part in the championship, regions are actively involved. Colleagues from friendly countries also train, for them it is a completely new occupation. We're going to have a little bit of a clearing soon.

Vladimir Pertsov said that he often practices woodcutting and even considers this occupation a special philosophy:

- Working with an axe distracts from worries, experiences, reflections. A firewood pick is somewhat similar to chess – you need to develop a whole strategy how to overcome this log, find the same crack, correctly calculate the blow to the right place. It's so exciting, it's a special philosophy.

The First Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office announced plans for the future:

I think that next year, when there is a larger venue, we will definitely gather a team of leaders and show a master class.
