Deputies of the Lipetsk Regional Council of the VIII convocation will gather for the first session on October 15. At the meeting, they will elect the leadership of the parliament and relevant committees, as well as the representative of the region in the Federation Council. This was reported in the regional Council of Deputies.
Parliamentarians discussed organizational issues at the first general meeting. It was traditionally held by the oldest deputy, honorary citizen of the Lipetsk region Leonid Milovanov. He urged his colleagues to take into account the proposals and requests of residents voiced during the election campaign and use them in further work.
Governor Igor Artamonov also participated in the meeting. He stressed the need for joint work of the executive and legislative authorities, including to support residents and develop the regional economy.
To prepare the first session, deputies formed an organizing committee. It includes representatives of all parties represented in the regional Council. In addition to the elections of the leadership of the Parliament, the agenda of the meeting included bills on social support of residents.
In the new convocation there are 36 deputies. 27 of them were elected in single-mandate constituencies, another nine passed on party lists. For 18 MPs, this is the first term in the regional council.
