Why it is important to teach people to act correctly in extreme situations and not to give in to panic today, September 18, at a press conference in the media center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, First Deputy Secretary General of the Belarusian Red Cross Society Sergey Shagun.

This year, the focus of the Single Safety Day is on the prevention and minimization of injuries in fires. In this regard, first aid training activities will be aimed at training the population to help with injuries that are characteristic of evacuation of people during fires. It is unconsciousness, burns, bleeding, wounds, poisoning, lack of consciousness and breathing.
In themselves, first aid actions are relatively simple, but their timely and high-quality implementation largely determines the further condition of the victim. According to the World Health Organization, if first aid is not timely and incorrect, then in the first minutes from 20 to 25 percent of seriously injured people die, and within an hour about 30 percent, Sergei Shagun said.
