In secondary school No. 40 named after V. I. Kremko, the grand opening of the media group on the basis of the profile class took place. Media class in Grodno was the first such project in the country. Already from the 10th grade, children will be able to study in depth the disciplines related to the work of a journalist: the basics of collecting and processing information, writing texts, shooting and editing videos, conducting interviews and creating content for different platforms.

The project was initiated by Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, local city TV channel, V.I. Kremko High School No. 40 and the Education Department of the Grodno City Executive Committee.

The opening of the media group in school No. 40 is not accidental. It has already created a material base for the development of young journalists – its own media center with equipment. In addition, students of the school last year became winners and prize-winners of media competitions at the republican level.
Chairman of the Grodno City Executive Committee Andrey Khmel congratulated students on such a significant event:
- I am glad that the first media group in the country is opening in our city. The creation and development of such a system - the training of specialists from the school bench - gradually formed not only in our city, but also in the republic. We have created all opportunities for development in the field of journalism. Although not always students from specialized classes come in the chosen direction, it is important to give them this opportunity. We can see how young people’s eyes are burning, how interested they are in creating content, which is why this class has appeared. Journalists today are combat soldiers in the information space, who tell people the truth and advocate for the independence of our Belarus. You have a responsible and important task – to love and celebrate your country through different types of content.

Andrey Khmel presented a nice gift to the media class – a certificate for the purchase of a professional camera, which will be an excellent incentive for creative victories of young journalists.

- The creation of the media group is the result of close long-term cooperation between the university, the local city TV channel and the school. The first boys and girls who opened and entered the media class will always be remembered. I hope that you enjoy the study of the future profession, open up new opportunities for you and find a response from the audience.

In order for the bold ideas of aspiring journalists to be professionally embodied, Irina Kiturko presented the head of the media group with a monetary certificate.

The media group includes about 25 people. Tenth-graders study the Russian language, the history of Belarus in the context of world history, and now they will be able to get acquainted with the experience of people who create news every day.
The head of the media group Olga Konetskaya noted that the classes will be practice-oriented:
- We will visit Kupalov University, young journalists are also waiting for excursions to the Grodno city TV channel, master classes from students and teachers. Kids really like to shoot and edit videos, take pictures, create their own information product. There are many graduates in our school who have chosen the specialty “Journalism” or “Information and Communication”.

The meeting resulted in the official signing of a plan for joint events between V.I. Kremko Secondary School No. 40 and the Department of Education of the Grodno City Executive Committee, Kupalov University and the local TV channel.

- I want to go to them. Yankees Kupala on profile specialty. I really like this direction. This is a variety of work – you can shoot videos, edit and voice them, learn new information and form news from it. My sister is already studying at the university, who told me how interesting it is there and I want to follow her example.

A student of the media group Sergey Zdanovich shared his impressions of the chosen profile:
It’s great to be able to learn more about journalism. I’m more interested in physics and math, but content creation is very appealing to me. I have not yet decided on my future profession, maybe profile classes will drag me even more into the media profession. Our class is very friendly, there are few boys, but even more fun with girls.
