The first in the country: a laser digital cinema with the effect of full immersion opened in Gomel

In the large hall of the Kalinin cinema in Gomel, a laser digital projector and a screen were installed, providing the viewer with the effect of full immersion in the atmosphere of the picture.

Engineer of the operational and technical department of the cinema Sergey Gerasimenko explained the technical component. The former vice-rector worked from a lamp, objectively he did not reach the picture for such a large screen: the brightness index sagged. Therefore, it was decided to replace it with a new laser light source. The screen was also replaced with the corresponding equipment. It is important for us to give the most clear, contrasting and bright picture, he stressed.

Among the advantages of this equipment is the technical side, the resourcefulness of this type of projector. “There is no actual monthly replacement of the lamp. The projector will work more than 50 thousand hours without replacing consumables, said Sergey Gerasimenko.

The screen and projector are Chinese-made, in the near future delivery of new sound equipment is expected. "The sound will also be more high-quality and voluminous in order to provide the viewer with the maximum effect of immersion in the cinema," Sergey Gerasimenko said.

According to experts, a laser projector of this level is the first not only in the Gomel region, but also throughout the country.

To evaluate the picture on the new screen one of the first were able to young viewers. Today, a special pre-premier screening of the animated film “Wolf” of the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm” took place. From October 8, this project will be in the posters of all cinemas of the Gomel region.
