St. Petersburg was advised not to wait for a proposal for years

A man can meet with one woman for several years, not daring to get married, and after parting, marry a new woman in just a few months. Such behavior is not necessarily related to the qualities of the partner - over time, a person may change his views on the family and readiness for obligations. This was told by family psychologist Veronika Akhmetova in an interview with RIAMO.

According to the expert, in long-term relationships, a man sometimes gets used to a comfortable life together and does not see the need to change the usual way of life. However, after a breakup, his life priorities, financial opportunities and ideas about marriage may change.

A man can live for years in comfort, where he has intimacy, support, life together, emotional stability. Everything suits him, and he does not need to change the format of these relations, Akhmetova explained.

The psychologist noted that delaying a wedding is sometimes associated with objective circumstances, such as the lack of their own housing or financial stability. In such cases, partners should openly discuss joint plans and specific deadlines for their implementation.

However, the expert warned that the long wait does not always end with a wedding. In her opinion, if in three to five years of a relationship a man has not made an offer, the likelihood of marriage in the future is small. However, the final decision on whether to continue to wait, each woman must make on their own.
