The incident, which occurred in late October, was provoked by the ingress of household garbage into the pipe, which blocked the movement of wastewater. A report of a leak from wells near Lake Logmozero came to the dispatch service from a local resident. A brigade quickly left the place, which found a serious blockage in the collector with a diameter of 300 mm. During the survey, it turned out that the situation was aggravated by the flow of storm sewerage, which is not within the area of responsibility of the resource supplying organization.

To eliminate the traffic jam, utilities had to repeatedly return to the site, pump out the contents of the pipes and use special equipment. Only after strengthening the brigade by several channels washing machines managed to extract a dense lump of debris. Wet wipes, ear sticks, cotton discs, rags and other foreign objects were removed from the system.

The company "RCS-Petrozavodsk" stressed that sewage is not intended for the disposal of household waste. Getting into the pipes of napkins, hygiene products and textiles leads to the accumulation of garbage, damage to communications and drains on the streets or into water bodies. Compliance with this rule depends not only on the serviceability of the city infrastructure, but also on the comfort of city residents.
