Housing construction in the Murmansk region reached a record pace. Over seven years, the volume of commissioning of apartment housing has more than tripled, and individual - almost seven times. These figures were reported by the Governor of the region Andrei Chibis.
For eight months of 2026, the plan for the commissioning of housing was exceeded - the figure reached 107%. People actively use preferential programs. Almost three thousand families issued an “Arctic mortgage” at 2% – the total amount of loans exceeded 10 billion rubles. Another 518 families took a “family mortgage”: loans were issued for more than 2 billion rubles. These programs were extended to the Arctic zone at the initiative of the head of the region.
Since this year, another important support measure has been launched – the state program for affordable rental housing. It covered the Murmansk region and the entire Arctic. By the end of 2027, doctors, teachers, engineers and young families will receive 267 apartments. Living in such an apartment will be cheaper than the market: part of the fee is assumed by the state.
Builders are not slowing down: now 25 high-rise buildings are being built in the region - this is about 170 thousand square meters of housing. The development is complex: last week an agreement was signed on the construction of a new residential complex on Skalnaya and Maklakova streets. There are plans for another LCD on Shabalin Street in Murmansk.
The housing market is in high demand: out of 2,135 apartments, 1,125 have already been sold. In the next 10 years, 1 million square meters of housing will be built in the region. New houses appear not only in the regional center, but also throughout the region: construction is underway or planned in Severomorsk, Kirovsk, Apatity, Monchegorsk, Zapolar, Zelenoborsk, Polar Zorya, Snezhnogorsk and Kovdor. Promising territories are called Apatity, Kandalaksha and Olenegorsk.
Special attention is paid to individual construction. Since 2022, under the gubernatorial program “Your Home in the Arctic”, about 1,700 certificates have been issued for a total of 2 billion rubles. About 1,400 individual homes have been built or bought.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” also reported that a residential complex with nine houses will be built in the area of Skalnoy and Maklakov.
