Dress weighing 15 kg, a handmade crown and a modern interpretation of the Belarusian costume - such images Minsk Margarita Maskaliene will present at the international competition "Mrs. Universe - 2026". The winner of the title “Lady Belarus 2025” will travel to Colombo, where more than 120 participants from around the world will meet from October 18 to 26. On the eve of a trip to the National School of Beauty, they showed how the Belarusian will enter the competition stage. Details - in the material of the correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti".

The first M. Maskaliene showed the evening dress. His contestant came up with herself, and embodied the idea in life Belarusian designer Natalia Voronkova. All the details were created by hand, the outfit is embroidered with many crystals and stones. As a result, the dress turned out not only spectacular, but also very heavy - about 15 kg. It is made in a red and gold scale. According to Minsk, the colors were not chosen by chance.

- For me, it was important that he not only had a beautiful form, but also a certain meaning. The golden color is regal, energy from above, something very bright and strong. Red for me is associated with earthly love and victory. So I wanted to combine these two colors in one image, she said.

The “fish” style emphasizes the silhouette, and the crown and handmade jewelry continue the overall style of the outfit. On stage under the light of the lights all this will play especially brightly.

No less carefully thought out the national image. Instead of a heavy and voluminous suit, the woman chose a more modern version. The sketches were created together with a professional artist, and the costume was sewn off by the master of the Belarusian folk crafts enterprise “Skarbnitsa”.

The dress made of natural silk is made in white and burgundy shades and supplemented with bolero with traditional Belarusian embroidery and Swarovski crystals. The main accent is embroidery on the back, where the Tree of Life is depicted. This traditional symbol organically fit into the modern cut of the costume.

- I wanted to make the costume a little different. Usually at such events we are used to seeing large, voluminous, very noticeable traditional outfits. And here it was important for me to preserve the Belarusian motives, but to make them modern and close in spirit. As a mother of many children, I chose the Tree of Life, because for me it is a symbol of procreation, motherhood and female strength.

Behind each image are months of work. Experts studied the requirements of the international competition in advance, thought out a combination of clothes, shoes, jewelry, hairstyle and makeup.

- We browse international onionbooks, pay attention to the color palette, the concept of the competition, the requirements for participants. And based on this, we select all the details of the image: costume, jewelry, shoes, hairstyle. It is important for us that all elements are combined and tell a single story, explained the stylist of the National School of Beauty Yulia Vorontsova.

At the same time, the team’s task is not to create a completely new image for the participant, but to emphasize her individuality. It is important that each outfit not only looks spectacular on stage, but also helps the contestant feel confident.

- We do not change our girls, we only try to emphasize what they already have. When a girl is confident in herself, when she is comfortable in her image, she feels herself - and that is when real beauty manifests itself. Therefore, we are very attentive to the details, conduct professional photo shoots, help to find profitable angles and understand how to better present yourself on the international stage, the expert added.

A separate area of training is work on something that is not directly related to the appearance. For several months, Mascaliene improved the English language, engaged in fashion shows, acting and practiced skills that will be useful during the competition program.

- In international competitions it is very important to have a good command of English. This is not only communication with the organizers and participants, but also an opportunity to confidently represent your country, tell about yourself and your projects, added the director of the National School of Beauty Bozhena Jeremich. Margarita is a mother of four children and that is very important to us. It combines motherhood, family and active preparation for Mr. Universe 2026. We are pleased that today we are developing not only the traditional direction of the Miss category, but also represent our married women and mothers on the world stage.

In Colombo, Minsk is waiting for a rich program: acquaintance with participants from different countries, gala events, a conference, a presentation of national costume and cultural events. At the conference, the Belarusian will talk about her work and projects related to supporting women.

- We understand how much responsibility Margarita has. She represents not only herself, but also our country, our women. Therefore, we tried to prepare it as professionally as possible. I am sure that she will adequately represent Belarus, Yeremich stressed.
