Why should Kalmykia residents be afraid of Kikimore tomorrow

The winter of October 28 was gaining strength, and with it, unclean spirits, for example, Kikimore, which in the summer did not dare to harm people, were activated.

According to legend, with Ethymia (Euthymia), she began to interfere with women and girls in any undertaking: she confused yarn, tore fabric, beat pots. It was said that to see Kikimore is possible only in one situation - if she sits behind the weaving mill to spoil the work of the weaver. In this case, it was necessary to overshadow the evil forces with the sign of the cross and ask Ethymius for help.

Despite the tricks of evil spirits, peasant women continued to do household chores. First of all, minted and trembled flax, cooked yarn. In the south, men cleaned the last hives in the omshaniks.
