Almost 350 kilograms of sanctioned products were seized in a store on Bolshoi Avenue of Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg. The goods were stored and intended for sale without Russian marking and shipping documents. This follows from the data of the court case card of the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
The inspection of the store in May 2026 was carried out by the transport prosecutor’s office together with customs officers. During the inspection, they found cheeses, meat and fish products produced in European countries, the import of which into Russia is prohibited. The total weight of the seized goods was 347.29 kilograms.
The products were transferred to responsible storage. The court found that during its implementation, the requirements of technical regulations and legislation on the quality and safety of food products were violated. In particular, the goods did not have the necessary marking in Russian, and there were no shipping documents.
The entrepreneur was brought to administrative responsibility and imposed a fine of 20 thousand rubles. The court also ordered the destruction of all seized products. The decision of 16 September can be appealed within ten days.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, customs officers also seized a large batch of illegal nicotine-containing products. In three warehouses in the Central, Frunze and Kirov districts found 437 thousand cigarettes without the necessary marking, nine thousand electronic cigarettes, 17 thousand bottles of liquid for vape and two thousand packages of chewing tobacco. On the fact of what happened, the issue of initiating a criminal case was decided.
