Vaccination campaign against influenza on the peninsula has gathered pace: for two months injections made about 596 thousand people – residents of Crimea and Sevastopol. This was told on the air of the TV channel “Crimea 24” by the chief specialist of the epidemiological supervision department of the Interregional Department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Crimea and Sevastopol Victoria Gudz.
According to her, by the end of the campaign, doctors expect to vaccinate 60% of the population of the peninsula. Now is the best time to get vaccinated: influenza viruses on the peninsula practically do not circulate.
The optimal period for vaccination is from September to November inclusive, Gudz noted. She also stressed that all medical organizations are provided with vaccines.
The vaccination campaign against influenza started in Crimea on September 9, 2026. The head of the republic Sergey Aksyonov reported that this year it is planned to vaccinate at least 63% of the population - more than 1.1 million people, including about 288 thousand children. In Sevastopol, the campaign began the day before, on September 8; more than 335,000 people, including 73,500 children, were to be vaccinated there.
For immunization in medical institutions of Crimea received two Russian vaccines: quadrivalent "Ultrix Quadri" - for children from six months and pregnant women, and trivalent "Flu-M" - for children and adults. Later in the campaign for children over seven years old also used “Sovigripp”.
By September 24, almost 139,000 people had been vaccinated in the republic – 114,183 adults and 24,647 children. By October 23, the number of people vaccinated in Crimea had risen to 420,963, including 283,046 adults and 137,917 children. Vaccination is available in any clinic, outpatient clinic or midwifery center regardless of attachment, and field teams are organized for labor collectives.
