Near Volgograd found the burial of a Cossack with a mysterious plate
The burial does not correspond to traditional Cossack customs.

In the area of the Dono-Arcedinsky sand ridge in the Frolov district of the Volgograd region, an old burial was found. According to the public “Ritual patrol”, on the churchyard instead of the usual for Cossack graves crosses and obelisks installed soft white stone, in shape resembling a gear.
The inscription on the plate reads: “Pokoitsa Cossack Visarion Bantonovich (?) Elatontsev”. 1880 6 February 29 years.” However, the exact interpretation of the text remains unclear. Is February 6, 1880 the date of birth or death? What does the age of 29 mean at the time of death? No answers yet.
Nearby is an old cemetery, most of which are abandoned.
