On the eve of the Day of Memory of Internal Affairs Officers, the police of the regional Glavka together with the representative of the Public Council Karen Avanesyan visited the family of Alexander Erokhin, who died in the line of duty in the late 1990s. This was reported to the MIA in Stavropol.
In March 1999, Yerokhin and his colleagues served on the border with Chechnya. The group was ambushed by militants. Alexander jumped out of the car and opened fire, killing two bandits. He was mortally wounded, but ensured the evacuation of wounded comrades. Posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
The widow Olga said that they met in the first grade, and after school started a family. They had daughters Julia and Elena. After the death of her husband, Olga went to serve in the internal affairs bodies.
The daughters followed in the footsteps of their parents - no other professions were considered. Today, the elder grandchildren of Alexander Erokhin serve.
Over tea, guests viewed family photos and listened to Olga’s stories. The family thanked the public for their attention.
