Tatiana Gnedko noted that Belarusian women are widely represented among researchers.

50 percent of researchers at the National Academy of Sciences are women. And of these researchers, 50 percent are PhDs, 22 percent are PhDs. Over the past 20 years, there has been a clear upward trend in the share of female researchers in academic science. At the same time, there is a significant, almost twice during this period, growth of women of higher scientific qualifications - doctors of sciences and candidates of sciences, Tatiana Gnedko introduced the case to the course.

Among young scientists at the Academy of Sciences under the age of 35, 54 percent are women.

Tatyana Gnedko noted that in the history of Belarus, only three women scientists were elected to the National Academy of Sciences by academicians.

- If we talk about corresponding members, then in the entire history from 1928 to 1921, when there was the last election. A total of 18 corresponding members were elected. And I want to say that many of these representatives continue to work in academic structures, said Deputy Academician-Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Speaking about the contribution of women in general to the development of science, it should be said that their achievements have become the basis for the progressive development of advanced technologies for the economy of our entire country. Women scientists create scientific schools in which like-minded people and students, followers come, and their achievements are introduced into production.

In addition, the names of Belarusian scientists from among the fair sex due to the result of their work are known in the world.

- Modern women scientists achieve outstanding results and develop breakthrough directions in space, medicine, genetics, biology, said Tatiana Gnedko. From biotechnologies to sociology, we learned what will be discussed at the first forum of women scientists in Minsk
