The issue of changing the organization of road traffic was considered at an unscheduled meeting of the Commission on Road Safety, convened on the initiative of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

The reason for convening the commission was a recent accident, which killed a child. Recall that the girl crossed the road in the wrong place, despite the presence of a nearby pedestrian crossing.

Following the meeting, Acting First Deputy Mayor of Yoshkar-Ola Gleb Bezmoneykh instructed to further study the issue of arranging a pedestrian crossing at this site. We are talking about measures that should improve traffic safety and reduce the risk of such accidents.

The timing of the work in the message of the traffic police is not specified.
