In Minsk, volunteers help the elderly with the delivery of food from agricultural fairs

Volunteers of the Good Heart movement assist the elderly in the delivery of purchased products during agricultural fairs. In the Leninsky district of Minsk at the fair, which unfolded in the car park near the Salyut cinema, today, on September 19, students of secondary school No. 55 were on duty, sb.by correspondent reports.

At 10:00 volunteers are already on duty: they are easily recognized by the red windbreakers from the BRSM logo. Meet the guys. 10th grade student Arseniy Sergienya joined the ranks of volunteers six months ago:

- This is my debut as a volunteer. He volunteered following the example of his older brothers. What else motivates me? Probably a sense of duty. I believe it is the duty of young people to help the elderly.

The first person to ask for help was a resident of Serebryanka Inna: the woman complained that she had health problems. Bringing shopping bags to her home is a test. The guys volunteered to help - escort the woman to the doorstep of the apartment and bring vegetables.

- I don’t know what I would have done without your help. - Thank you for this action and caring young people.

During the republican charity action BRSM “We choose help for the elderly”, which takes place all year round, in the autumn, volunteers provide assistance in the delivery of agricultural products to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, disabled people of I and II groups, lonely elderly people, said the chief specialist of the Lenin District Committee of the BRSM Minsk Nikita Shaikovsky:

The action takes place in Minsk and the regions of Belarus on weekends during agricultural fairs. In the Leninsky district already formed a team of volunteers for the coming weekend. Elderly people can turn to BRSM volunteers for help in all regions of the country.
