The arrival of the first snow in the Ivanovo region is delayed

Leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus warned residents of Central Russia about the delay of winter.

According to him, the first snow and temporary snow cover this year will appear much later than the average multi-year period.

The weather forecaster specified the climate norm of the XXI century: the first snow usually falls on October 18, and a stable cover is formed by November 3.

Both of these events are expected to be late this season.

Winter has already come into its own in other regions: the highest snowdrifts in Russia are now in the Magadan region (41 cm) and Khakassia (38 cm).
