Dozens of settlements, thousands of kilometers of roads and hundreds of meetings that will be remembered for a long time. The multiformat project of the publishing house “Obeliskies of the Great Feat” continues its journey across the country. Today, it was deployed in Baranovichi, by the way, not for the first time, which confirms the high interest in the project. In the new location - Baranovichi State University. In a modern educational institution, conditions have been created for training and educating a new change of qualified specialists. And the patriotic project of our publishing house is a weighty word in the treasury of new knowledge of students, the formation of their worldview.

The exhibition rallies, as always, lively. Students with phones upload videos created by the authors of the project, demonstrating the scale of the feat of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. She left a black mark on every family. Using modern formats, the creators manage to complement the reality, which was told to the youth of their grandparents, new facts, figures, non-trivial visual presentation. Children think when they realize the human and material losses suffered by the people. To survive, to survive amid the total post-war devastation was no less a feat.

This is also reported by thousands of obelisks of the Belarusian land. The goal of the project is to acquaint young people with the silent testimony of the heroic past of the people: both with well-known and local monuments, but therefore no less significant. An important component of the project is holding rallies with the laying of flowers and a minute of silence at the foot of the monuments.

Memorial complex "Gai tract" in Baranovichi. You go through a private building and get into a beautiful forest, among which there is a complex: statues of human hands facing upwards, to the bell, the thin ringing of which blows the wind. In the first years of the war, the invaders brought prisoners from different countries to Baranovichi. On June 24, 1942, 3,000 Czechoslovak citizens arrived from Terezin. They were taken to the forest of Guy outside the city and shot. Belarusians remember that. Flowers from the staff of the publishing house “Belarus Today”, the leadership, teachers and students of Baranovichi State University lay on a cold stone.

- Every time you go to a place like this, you experience heavy, overwhelming feelings. You have to do this to understand the price of victory. We, young people, are the bearers of memory, said Alexander Novik, a third-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Law. In our family, this topic is sacred, we visit obelisks with our parents constantly.

For Evgeny Lutich, a four-year student of the engineering faculty, a future design engineer, the stories of great-grandparents who survived the war, and acquaintance with the exhibition will be an occasion to restore the archives and preserve the family history: I only know that one great-grandfather had an order, and the second became a prisoner of a concentration camp. For now, it's a white spot. I want to restore the truth and the memory of them.

- During the war, my great-grandfather Mikhail Tukay hid a partisan in his house. Didn't give them to the Germans. He was threatened with shooting if on the eve of the search of the Nazis by luck the partisans did not have time to go on a mission. Another great-grandfather Vasily Stepanovich Koleda participated in the fighting, went through the war, was wounded and died on the Oder River. The great-grandmother was in captivity, suffered a leg injury - a shell tore off her heel. I came home, lived a long time and waited for my great-grandchildren, me and my brother. Parents keep this story.

- It is a great honor for the publishing house “Belarus Today” to present the exhibition at Baranovichi State University. There are thousands of memorable places in our country. Of course, you can find a lot of information about each of them. It was important for us to create a single interactive database of obelisks. The website obeliski.by contains dozens of films created by us during the development and filling of the project about shrines, telling about the feat of ancestors. They are a place of worship for the great sacrifice of the people, because that war is the foundation on which our statehood and ideology are built. Memory is the vaccine for a new war. History shows that if we forget the price of peace, war returns to our homes

Rector of Baranovichi State University Alexander Unsovich addressed the audience with the following words:

- We have gathered here under peaceful skies and in peacetime, but this has not always been the case. Prom evenings in 1941 at your peers interrupted sirens, began to tear shells. The war began... A terrible period in our history. Thanks to the courage and heroism of the Soviet people, today we enjoy life, have children and live in a peaceful country. I thank the publishing house for the opportunity to touch history again, to look at that tragedy once again, to bow to the courage of the people who gave their lives so that today we build the future and develop the country. You guys go to obeliski.by because you don't know everything because you're young. Yes, you study our history, but thanks to the initiative of people and the state, we find new names and preserve the memory of the past. Through QR codes, you can access unique video materials. A lot of work has been done. Thanks for that! Our task is to come to the obelisks with flowers to bow.
