The lighting design of the Petrovsky Embankment in Vyborg and the illumination of the central square in Gromovo took prizes at the annual competition “Russian Lighting Design”. This was reported in the press service of the administration of the Leningrad region.
According to the head of the Housing and Utilities Committee of the Leningrad region Denis Belyaev, the region pays great attention to lighting to increase aesthetic attractiveness, safety and convenience. Experts apply energy-saving technologies and take into account day and evening use scenarios all year round.
“Quality lit boulevard or promenade in the forest retain their purpose for residents at any time of the year and day,” said Belyaev.
In Vyborg, lighting emphasizes the architecture of the castle, preserves the historical appearance and highlights the view points. On the embankment, the Powder Cellar and the Annin fortifications are accentuated. Multilevel lighting emphasizes the relief and details of buildings.
In Gromovo, two-level lighting on the main square corresponds to the new infrastructure, preserving the spirit of Soviet constructivism. The space became a cozy place for evening walks. Winners will be awarded at the Interlight exhibition at Crocus Expo in October. Earlier, “MK in the Leningrad region” wrote that in the Podporozhye district began laying the first layer of asphalt on the road leading to Myatusovo.
