About 400 people apply to trade union lawyers every month during legal field receptions. The issues concern not only labor relations, but also pension and housing legislation, writes sb.by.

Regular free legal consultations will be held on September 24, traditionally on the last Thursday of the month. Receptions are organized by legal labor inspectors of trade unions in all regions of the country. Information about the place and time of work of specialists is posted on the websites of regional and Minsk city associations of trade unions.
In August, a significant part of the appeals were related to the questions of young professionals. They were interested in guarantees for employment, compensation for expenses during relocation and the possibility of establishing a probationary period.
So, during an on-site reception in the Glus district, a young specialist, assigned to work in another area, asked whether his wife would be able to receive compensation if she moved to him later.
The trade union lawyer explained that the employer is obliged to reimburse the costs of moving the family members of the employee, as well as to pay each of them a lump sum in the amount of a quarter of the amount paid to the specialist himself. Spouses do not have to move at the same time. The right to payment is retained if a family member moves to a new place of residence within one year from the date of provision of accommodation to the employee.
Citizens often ask questions about everyday labor relations. Among them are remuneration, accrual of incentive and collective agreement payments, compliance with the terms of the contract and the legality of applying disciplinary sanctions.
In each case, legal inspectors examine the specific circumstances and explain the legal provisions. If a violation of labor rights is detected, trade union specialists help the employee protect his interests and resolve the dispute. The employer did not take into account 15 years of experience of the builder from Grodno – the trade union helped to achieve a recalculation of severance pay
