Trade unions of Belarus will continue to introduce innovative forms of work in the field of labor protection
More than 4.4 thousand inspections and monitoring of compliance with the legislation on labor protection were carried out by the technical inspection of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus for the first time.

More than 4,400 inspections and monitoring of compliance with labor protection legislation were carried out by the technical inspection of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus for the first half of 2026. More than 28,000 violations were detected. This was stated at the meeting of the National Council for Labor and Social Affairs by Deputy Chairman of the FPB Tatiana Filimonova.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. It was attended by representatives of the Government, republican associations of employers and trade unions. The participants discussed the prevention of occupational injuries and public control over compliance with labor protection legislation.
Among the violations identified for the first half of the year were the non-use of personal protective equipment by workers on construction sites when working at height, the absence of protective fences for moving parts of production equipment, unfenced openings in buildings under construction. There were also cases of admission of employees to work without the necessary qualifications.
For each violation, technical labor inspectors issue recommendations or submissions. Trade unions control their execution. The remaining shortcomings of employers are eliminated in a timely manner.
Special attention was paid to the causes of accidents with serious consequences. An analysis of incidents that occurred in 2026 shows that one of the main reasons remains personal negligence of employees. In particular, injuries occurred due to falls on a flat surface and when moving along stairs. The risk was increased when workers used mobile phones, read documents while driving, carried objects covering their view, or did not use handrails and railings.
- Given the relevance of the topic of labor protection, trade unions not only continue public control, but also introduce new forms of injury prevention. Special emphasis is placed on digitalization. In particular, the FPB technical labor inspection has developed and is implementing a mobile application for public labor protection inspectors. The application allows you to quickly identify and inform the management and labor protection service of the enterprise about existing violations of labor protection legislation and real risks, the press service of the FPB said.
New technologies are also being used to train public health inspectors. For example, on the basis of the International University "MITSO" for more than two years, the Occupational Safety Center and the training and practical laboratory have been operating. The center is equipped with the latest equipment, including virtual reality devices, and allows you to conduct effective practical training for labor protection specialists.
