The Prosecutor’s office insisted on the repair of an emergency dam in the Kursk district

The prosecutor’s inspection conducted in the Kursk district revealed violations in the field of environmental protection during the operation of hydraulic facilities. The private dam was found to be in poor technical condition.

According to the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, the construction requires urgent overhaul. In addition, the owner of the facility did not comply with mandatory measures provided by law to ensure the safety of hydraulic structures.

To eliminate the identified shortcomings, the representative of the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court. The requirements of the supervisory authority included not only restoration work, but also the calculation of possible damage, as well as the execution of a civil liability insurance policy.

After considering the case materials, the Kursk District Court sided with the plaintiff and decided to satisfy the claims in full. Now the owner is obliged to bring the hydraulic structure into a regulatory state, the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Kursk region said.
