Checking the combat readiness of the air force and air defense forces is the most important element of deterrence – Shpakovsky

Verification of combat readiness on behalf of the President of Belarus continues in the air force and air defense forces. The importance of strengthening the country's defense potential in the program "Budni" on the YouTube channel "SBTV" and "Alfa Radio" was told by Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shpakovsky, reports sb.by.

First of all, the parliamentarian noted:

Air Force and air defense troops are the most important element of ensuring the defense capability of the state. We see that in the realities of modern war, unmanned aircraft are actively used. Moreover, in fact, we can say that military science will conceptually undergo, and perhaps already undergo serious changes in connection with the introduction of unmanned combat technologies. We are talking not only about aviation, but also about surface drones, various types of military equipment that can be remotely controlled, about mine clearance systems, combat robots and so on. But first of all, of course, about unmanned aircraft technologies. In this context, modernization, renewal and preparation of air defense to the realities of modern warfare are of paramount importance.

Alexander Shpakovsky reminded that the military doctrine of the Republic of Belarus is purely defensive in nature, and the impossibility of participation of our state in any aggression is constitutionally fixed:

- We're not initiating war. At the same time, we understand that, unfortunately, the international situation tends to escalate further. Moreover, 2025 was a record year for the number of armed conflicts in the world. And in terms of expanding their geography, the conflict is increasing. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is very aggressive. Bordering NATO countries and belligerent Ukraine are pursuing an unfriendly policy towards Belarus. They are rapidly increasing military spending and offensive military capabilities. In this regard, Belarus is conducting combat training activities in response. Simply put, we are preparing for active defense, in accordance with our military doctrine, in the event of an attack on our country to inflict irreparable damage to the enemy.

Summing up, the guest of the talk show drew attention to the fact that training and combat activities, which on behalf of the Head of State are held in our Armed Forces and internal troops, are the most important element of deterrence:

- Demonstrating our capabilities, we hope that the potential adversary will take into account our potential and refrain from the adventurous military aggression against Belarus. And, of course, the army, which is in a state of stagnation, stagnation, is deteriorating. In this regard, conducting such sudden inspections (and there are also planned measures of combat training) allows you to identify the real level and objectively assess your own capabilities.
