“Pskov heat networks” eliminated a large leak on Lenin Square in Pskov

At night, the dispatcher of the Pskov Heat Networks noticed a sharp increase in the consumption of rechargeable water - a sign of a leak on the heating grid. The emergency team went in search and at the building at the address: Lenin Square, 1, in the heat chamber found water, told "MK in Pskov" in the press service of the enterprise.

Due to the vapor, visibility was zero, so the exact site of damage was searched using a correlation flow detector. The device indicated the epicenter with an accuracy of a centimeter.

To get to the pipe, they opened the asphalt and removed the soil. The pipe served more than a dozen years: a crack formed at the junction, and corrosion affected the trunk itself, so patching the old site was useless.

The master gas carrier cut out the damaged segment, after which the welder replaced the pipe with a margin. Welding was carried out in several passages, despite condensation.

The tightness was restored, the system was filled. Now the site is being prepared for asphalt: the territory is leveled, crushed stone and sand are laid.
