The unity of the people has always been and remains the main national idea of Belarus. During the solemn meeting on the Day of National Unity, heads of organizations and enterprises of Pervomaisky, activists of the district and youth at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on September 17, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reported.
Before the solemn meeting, the participants of the event visited exhibitions in the Museum of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, got acquainted with the expositions, which made it possible to clearly see the continuity of generations: from the origins of the formation of academic science to the latest high-tech developments in the field of artificial intelligence, materials science, biotechnology and medicine.

- We have something to be proud of. Today, being here, in the main scientific center of the country, the participants of the event and, of course, first of all, the youth can appreciate the strength of will and unity with which the development of the country and its formation has proceeded since the reunification of Western and Eastern Belarus, when our people regained territorial integrity, indivisibility and, most importantly, the right to independently determine their fate, said Vadim Perednya, head of the Pervomaysky district administration. The most important thing is to maintain unity within the country. Unity is not an abstract concept. It is forged daily: by the work of our engineers, workers, doctors, teachers and farmers; in our collectives through mutual assistance, common goals and high results; in our families, where traditional values, respect for elders and love for the Motherland are carefully preserved.

- The date of September 17 is sacred for our statehood. This is a symbol of historical justice, when the Belarusian people, divided by the will of other people’s geopolitical interests, regained integrity, said Stanislav Yuretsky, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The importance of spiritual unity and moral guidelines was told by the senior priest of the Temple-monument in honor of All Saints and in memory of the victims, the salvation of our Fatherland, Archpriest Alexei Vasin.
National Unity Day has become an integral part of the state calendar. This holiday raises themes not only of the restoration of historical justice, but also of eternal human values: family, memory and love for the native land.

- The holiday is a multifaceted phenomenon at the intersection of history, politics and culture, noted Colonel Dmitry Zablotsky, Acting Head of the Research Institute of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Every year its importance for society grows, filling with personal and emotional meaning for every citizen of Belarus.
The solemn meeting ended with concert numbers prepared by soloists and collectives of institutions and enterprises of Pervomaisky district.
