Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the development of a comprehensive program to study the change in the level of the Caspian Sea and minimize its consequences. He said this at the Caspian Ecological Summit in Turkmenistan.
The program is designed until 2030. It includes numerous studies, the results of which Russia will share with all interested countries.
Putin also proposed creating a digital twin of the Caspian Sea, a highly accurate virtual model using artificial intelligence algorithms. It will analyze the dynamics of evaporation, precipitation and river runoff to calculate scenarios of sea level change. The model can be used to clarify navigation routes and improve navigation safety.
The President invited the CIS countries to join this initiative.
