Jays staged an autumn feast on oaks in the rose garden of Sochi
In a remote part of the rose garden in Sochi noticed an unusual cluster of jays

In a remote part of the Rosary in Sochi noticed an unusual cluster of jays. Five birds at the same time fed acorns on the oak with sis, moving along its crown in search of the ripest fruits. Feathers allowed observers close enough, reported in the channel Sochi “Dandrary”.
Jay can be recognized by its characteristic plumage: a reddish-pink hue of the body, a bright blue area on the wing, black stripes on the sides of the beak and a white header.
In autumn, these birds actively harvest food for the cold season. They hide acorns in tree cracks and under fallen foliage, creating reserves for the winter. Some of the caches remain forgotten, and the hidden fruits sprout in the spring. Due to this, jays participate in the natural distribution of oaks.
The gray oak, which attracted the attention of birds, is characterized by slow growth, but takes root well on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. You can see it in Sochi parks.
Autumn feeding of jays became an opportunity to observe the behavior of birds in the urban environment and a reminder of the important role of birds in the preservation and renewal of vegetation.
Earlier it was reported that in Sochi rescuers pulled a woman and a dog from a pit at a construction site.
