Early winter will come to Russia: where snow will fall in October
While the central part of the country enjoys the warmth, in the north and east of Russia are already preparing for the first snowdrifts and severe frosts.

The calendar shows the middle of autumn, but the weather in some parts of Russia decided to play by its own rules. According to preliminary data of Roshydromet, a full-fledged winter entourage in the form of snow and severe frosts will return to the country in October.
The most severe scenario awaits the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Yakutia and Taimyr. The first precipitation in the form of snow is predicted in the first decade of the month. By mid-October, night temperatures will drop to -15°C, and by the end of the month, 20-degree frosts will hit some areas. For these latitudes, however, such phenomena are quite natural and expected.
In the north of the Ural region (including the Sverdlovsk region, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), a stable cooling is expected after October 15. At night, thermometers will show from -5 to -12 ° C, and in mountainous areas snow cover can last a long time. At the same time, meteorologists note that on average in the region, October still promises to be slightly warmer than the climatic norm, so single snowfalls should not be perceived as the final arrival of winter.
Chukotka and the north of the Khabarovsk Territory will meet the cold one of the first: already at the beginning of the month, frosts up to -12 ° C are possible, and by the end of October - up to -20 ° C. In Primorye, the autumn will be delayed: up to 20 numbers in the day will remain up to + 15 ° C, but then the temperature will plummet. At night, frosts are expected to -7 ° C, and the usual rain will be replaced by wet snow.
This is just a preliminary prediction. Meteorologists emphasize that long-term models are often adjusted, and widespread cooling is not expected. South and central Russia are likely to enjoy a golden autumn for a long time to come.
