Early winter will come to Russia: where snow will fall in October
While the central part of the country bathes in the autumn sun, Siberia, the Urals and the Far East are preparing for the first serious snowfalls and frosts in October.

Calendar autumn is still in full swing, but nature in the north and east of the country lives by its own rules. According to preliminary data of Roshydromet, October will bring the first real frosts and snowfalls to Siberia, the Urals and the Far East.
The very first cold will be felt by residents of the northern territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Yakutia and Taimyr. Snow can fall in the first decade of the month. By mid-October, night temperatures will drop to -15°C, and by the end of the month, frosts of up to -20°C will hit some areas. Given that September frosts have become the norm, such a scenario looks quite realistic.
In the Northern Urals (Sverdlovsk region, KhMAO, Yamal) stable minus is expected after October 15. At night, thermometers will show from -5 to -12 ° C, and in mountainous areas the snow cover can linger for a long time. However, meteorologists reassure: on average, October may be even warmer than the climatic norm, so single snowfalls do not mean the final and irrevocable arrival of winter.
Chukotka and the north of the Khabarovsk Territory will meet the cold without delay: frosts up to -12 ° C are expected at the beginning of the month, and by its end - up to -20 ° C. But Primorye will bask longer in the autumn sun (up to +15 ° C in the day). However, after October 20, the temperature will collapse sharply: at night frosts will hit to -7 ° C, and heavy rains will be replaced by wet snow.
This is just a preliminary prediction. Meteorologists note that long-term models are often adjusted, and a widespread transition to winter is not expected. The south and central Russia are likely to enjoy the warmth and golden autumn for a long time to come.
