Revealed a new trick scammers with debts for housing and communal services
A member of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on public control and work with citizens' appeals Evgeny Masharov said that before the start of the heating season, attackers began to massively send citizens messages about non-existent debts for housing and communal services

Member of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on public control and work with citizens' appeals Evgeny Masharov said that before the start of the heating season, attackers began to send citizens messages about non-existent debts for housing and communal services. In these messages, it is proposed to pay off the arrears by a fake link.
The heating season has already started in 19 Russian regions.
Masharov said that on the eve of the cold, scammers send SMS messages, which claim the presence of debt for utilities. The text of such messages contains a false reference to pay the fictitious debt.
The expert warned that when clicking on such a link, a person risks transferring money for a non-existent debt, and in this case, the funds will simply fall into the pocket of attackers.
In order not to become a victim of deception, Masharov advises citizens to discuss any suspicious messages with relatives or neighbors.
A member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation added that a fresh look from the outside often helps to notice inconsistencies that the person himself could miss.
