Rare brand of the USSR for 1.5 million rubles sold in Rostov

In Rostov-on-Don for sale put up a unique postage stamp of the USSR 1933, estimated at 1.5 million rubles. This philatelic rarity, depicting the Nenets against the tundra background, is of particular value due to its ideal state and historical significance.

The stamp, printed by phototyping on rare purple-brown paper, remained in excellent condition, despite the fact that it was issued long before the Great Patriotic War. According to the seller, its preservation is assessed as “the highest degree of storage” (F – VF – XF), which is very rare for copies that survived the war years.

The value of stamps of the USSR is determined not by the fact of their Soviet origin, but by such factors as historical uniqueness, small circulation, typographical errors or marriage. Most Soviet stamps were produced in huge circulations and are inexpensive, but individual copies can reach astronomical amounts.

This brand, which has the catalogue of Michel number 438, belongs to the high price segment and is offered as a profitable investment. The seller emphasizes that the transaction is not urgent and is willing to consider only the cash equivalent.
