Russians told how to recognize children preparing for crimes

The official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko made an appeal in which she recalled the ways to protect teenagers from involvement in criminal activity. According to her, over the past three years, the number of minors committing terrorist crimes in the country has been growing. The appeal was published in the SK channel in Max.

If in 2024, 98 people were prosecuted, then in the first half of 2026, 196 teenagers were convicted of such acts. Often, under the influence of anonymous curators, they try to destroy transport infrastructure. Investigative practice shows that children from a variety of families, including quite prosperous ones, are involved in such crimes.

Attackers use various recruitment channels and mechanisms: closed groups, online games and anonymous chats. By deception, intimidation, blackmail and threats, they mislead teenagers.

Recruiters take advantage of ignorance of criminal law, promising easy earnings and avoidance of responsibility, and thus push young people to especially serious crimes.

It is important to notice the danger in time, pay attention to changes in the behavior of the child, immediately take measures and not be afraid to contact law enforcement agencies. Even if a teenager has already entered into a dialogue with an attacker, it is never too late to stop.

The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation has Article 31, which provides for exemption from liability in case of voluntary refusal of a crime. In order for it to be applied, it is necessary to immediately inform law enforcement agencies about what is happening and stop any actions related to the preparation of a crime.

The department reminds that the fulfillment of the requirements of the attackers will inevitably lead to criminal liability and punishment. For minors, the maximum term of imprisonment can be 10 years.

The Ministry of Justice included four people in the register of foreign agents.

It became known what new idea is being discussed at the talks between Ukraine and the United States in Miami.
