In the Tula region, potatoes, cabbage and cucumbers were more expensive than in the Moscow region

In the Tula region, potatoes, cabbage and cucumbers were more expensive than in the Moscow region. Such data on average consumer prices at the end of September 2026 published Rosstat.
The cost of cabbage differed the most. In the Tula region, the kilogram cost an average of 37.46 rubles, and in the suburbs - 32.09 rubles. The difference was almost 17%. Potatoes in the region cost 41.35 rubles per kilogram against 40.23 rubles for neighbors. Cucumbers were also more expensive: 146.42 rubles against 136.56 rubles.
At the same time, tomatoes in the Tula region were sold slightly cheaper than in Moscow: 186.37 rubles per kilogram against 187.99 rubles.
For some other products, prices in the region were noticeably lower. For example, a kilogram of beef in the Tula region cost an average of 752.60 rubles, while in the suburbs - 835.26 rubles. Pork was also cheaper: 391.13 rubles against 488.57 rubles.
The difference also affected the groceries. Rice in the Tula region cost 78.23 rubles per kilogram, and in Moscow - 139.12 rubles. High-grade pasta was also cheaper in Tula shops.
In other words, the higher cost of individual vegetables does not mean that all products in the Tula region are more expensive than in the suburbs. For example, meat and some cereals prices in the region were lower.
Earlier, MK in Tula reported inflation in the Tula region, which amounted to 7.1%. At the end of last month, vegetables and fruits fell in price in the region due to the arrival of a new harvest, as well as chicken eggs ( amid an increase in production and supply on the market). At the same time, sugar went up. However, analysts found an explanation for this, pointing out that in the summer, demand for it is traditionally growing due to household billets, and the processing of new crop beets has not yet reached full capacity.
