In Rostov-on-Don, citizens are concerned about the appearance of Pushkin Square. They sent photos of the damaged decorative structures to the DonDay editorial office on October 11.
The pictures show that on one of the stone stands there is no ball, which served as a decoration of the fence. According to Rostov, he disappeared recently. On other supports, damage is noticeable, and in places there are not enough facing plates.
Local residents pay attention to the need to bring decorative elements in order. In their opinion, the current state of the fence spoils the appearance of the square in the city center.
The monument to Alexander Pushkin, near which damaged structures are located, was installed in August 1959 at the intersection of Pushkin Street and Voroshilov Avenue. Six years later, the square was decorated with lanterns in the style of the XIX century.
The monument has the status of an object of cultural heritage of regional importance. This place annually becomes a platform for events dedicated to the birthday of the poet, which is celebrated on June 6.
