The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin said that in September, the total fertility rate (TFR) in the region was 1.377. This is 9.3% more than in July last year. For the fourth consecutive month, the TFR in the Nizhny Novgorod region exceeds the average Russian level. The positive dynamics for the third and subsequent children is especially noticeable - the corresponding coefficient increased by 17.9%.
The main measure of support for families in the region remains the parental basic income "Basic". More than 24 thousand families have issued a certificate for its receipt, and almost every fourth case is the birth of a third or subsequent child.
“The total fertility rate is an important indicator. But for us, the main guideline is the opinion of young parents: what helps them decide on a child, what difficulties they face, what support they expect. This is what we are setting up and will adjust all measures, said Gleb Nikitin.
