This is a so-called generational ban. If the proposal is accepted, people born since 2009 will not be able to buy such products even after reaching the age of majority.

The restriction is proposed to apply to electronic cigarettes, vapes, snuff and chewing tobacco, as well as hookah tobacco. The initiative is still under discussion.

The sale of tobacco and nicotine products to minors is prohibited. The new proposal differs in that the ban for the chosen generation will continue beyond the age of 18.

Earlier, “MK in Novosibirsk” reported that the city Council of Novosibirsk proposed to ban the retail sale of vapes in the region.
