On October 7, the Counter-Terrorism Forum was launched in Minsk, which brought together the IV CIS Conference on Countering Terrorism and Extremism.

On October 7, the Counter-Terrorism Forum was launched in Minsk, which united the IV CIS Conference on Countering Terrorism and Extremism and the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference of the SCO RATS. The role of the event was told by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, head of the criminal police Gennady Kazakevich, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

Gennady Kazakevich noted:
- In 2020, our country faced for the first time such vivid and obvious manifestations of extremism and a threat to national security. Now the Interior Ministry states that the threat is not only relevant, it is extraordinary for Belarus. Moreover, an analysis of international practice shows that extremism and terrorism, especially terrorism, have become instruments of direct aggression against our country and other states. And to fight this phenomenon, of course, can only be together. This is what our forum is about.

The forum was attended by more than 300 delegates from 18 countries. The conference became a platform for global interaction, comprehensive dialogue and exchange of best practices of international counter-terrorism cooperation, further development and confidence-building between the CIS and SCO countries on the basis of the principles of openness and mutual trust, based on the norms of international law.
The professional dialogue will continue tomorrow, October 8, within the framework of the joint anti-terrorist exercises of the competent authorities of the CIS member states and the SCO member states Eurasia-Anti-Terror-2026.
