Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow Petr Biryukov said that about 1.3 million gas stoves have been tested in the Russian capital since the beginning of 2026.
In January-September, the efficiency and safety requirements of almost 1.3 million gas stoves installed in apartments were checked. Identified minor problems gas workers eliminate on the spot, — said the Deputy mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The Vice-Mayor specified that if serious violations are detected, the safety threat must first be excluded, and then recommendations for further operation and repair are issued.
Responsibility for the maintenance and replacement of gas equipment lies with the owner or tenant of the premises. The service life of a gas stove on average is from 10 to 12 years, after which the gas cranes wear out, the burners are deformed, the thermal insulation of the oven is broken. It is impossible to maintain the safe operation of such devices, replacement is necessary.
In addition, the gas stove must be equipped with a gas control system, which suspends the gas supply if the flame in the burner has gone out.
Gas security issues in Moscow are under special control. In the Russian capital, scheduled maintenance of the entire gasified housing stock is carried out annually.
