Saldo checked Skadovsk without warning: schools, market and readiness for winter
Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo made an unplanned trip to Skadovsk to assess the real state of affairs in the city, rather than focusing only on reports

The Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo made an unplanned trip to Skadovsk to assess the real state of affairs in the city, and not focus only on reports.
Together with Senator Konstantin Basyuk and Commissioner for Children’s Rights Irina Kravchenko, the head of the region opened a cadet class of border orientation at school No. 1. He was led by the First Border Cadet Corps of the FSB of Russia. The class will bear the name of Sergei Savchenko, a native of Skadovsk, a lieutenant general who headed the state security agencies of the Ukrainian SSR and participated in the creation of Soviet intelligence. His memory was preserved in the framework of the party project “Historical Memory”.
After the ceremony, the Governor visited schools No. 1 and No. 3, kindergarten “Bell” and the regional employment center. The educational process is well organized, but the inspection of food units showed that the economic part needs to be tightened: somewhere there are not enough freezers, hoods and stoves, somewhere there are equipped storerooms, dishes and paints for classes. Comments recorded.
The governor checked the facilities' readiness for power outages. Generators are not yet in all schools and kindergartens - it is instructed to control their purchase and delivery. It is also necessary to provide containers for water supply, storage rooms for food and freezers. Due to difficulties with food supplies, it was instructed to establish a stable supply and form stocks. Mobile generator sets and a more decentralized power supply system will be used where required.
The head of the region passed the central market and trading rows. Merchants said the harvest was good, but it became more difficult to export and sell products because of light, fuel and difficult conditions on the roads. At the same time, the governor did not hear pessimism - people are optimistic and intend to return to the previous volumes. Saldo noted that trade should be put in order: those who now trade by the road should be provided with equipped seats inside the market.
All comments have been collected and will be reviewed with the regional government and the district administration. The governor said he would continue similar trips to see how the solutions work on site.
