Saratov physicists have found a way to improve flexible screens of a new type

Saratov has created a long-lasting basis for the production of flexible video screens. This is reported by the news agency RIA Novosti.

Employees of the Chernyshevsky State University together with specialists of ITMO and the Alferov Academic University from St. Petersburg used an electric field to pull the finest polymer threads from a liquid mixture with the addition of lead and cesium salts. This method of electroforming allows you to synthesize light-emitting perovskite nanoparticles directly in the structure of fibers tens of nanometers thick, isolating them from the destructive effects of heat, oxygen and moisture.

Alexei Serdobintsev, associate professor of the specialized department of Saratov University, said that the innovation eliminates the use of expensive stabilizing components and simplifies scaling. In the future, it is planned to obtain a full color range of the visible spectrum, and while irradiated with ultraviolet material consistently gives green glow over four years, which makes it suitable for the production of medical sensors and “smart” textiles.
