Recycled collection in Minsk region increased by almost 5% to the level of 2025

Organizations and enterprises of the Minsk region for eight months of 2026 collected and harvested 82.25 thousand tons of secondary material resources, which is 4.9% more than in the same period last year. This sb.by reported in the GO "Housing and communal services of the Minsk region".

In terms of the types of collected waste, the picture is as follows: paper and cardboard waste - 38.55 thousand tons, glass waste - 12.83 thousand tons, polymer waste - 18.22 thousand tons, worn tires - 6.17 thousand tons, household appliance waste - 3.28 thousand tons, waste oils - 3.21 thousand tons.

Secondary material resources are waste, which after collection can be reused as raw materials. Special enterprises operate in Belarus for their processing. Recycled materials include paper and cardboard, scrap metal, textiles, wood waste, plastic, film and PET, glass, spent batteries, engine oils, car tires and other materials.

As emphasized in the Minsk region housing and communal services, sorting and recycling of waste help not only to protect nature, but also to take care of people’s health, reducing the use of primary resources. Near Vitebsk will launch the first in the region center of separate waste collection
