Do everything you can and back off: how to stop getting sick because of setbacks and resentments
The priest Philip Ilyashenko explained why excessive control interferes with life and how to properly ask God for help in order to find peace of mind.

We often burn out, despair, and deeply worry when our plans fail. According to priest Philip Ilyashenko, the root of this pain lies in our obsessive attempt to control everything around us.
The clergyman offers a simple algorithm of actions: honestly do your job, put maximum energy into achieving the goal, and then just let go of the situation.
“You have to do everything you can, and even a little more, to do your best, and then leave your place to God,” Father Philip said. If what you do is really good for you, God will let it happen. If not, it will not allow, and then there is simply nothing to be offended.”.
This is the essence of true Christian humility. This is not passivity or inaction, but wise trust: you faithfully do your part of the work, and you trust the Higher Forces with the result, realizing that they see the whole picture.
A special emphasis is placed on the rules of prayer. Asking God for help is simple, sincere, and without a shadow of doubt. God always appreciates human labor and willingly responds to the requests of those who do not sit idly by, but try, relying on the will from above.
As the Gospel says, “Ask and it will be given to you.” But it is important to remember the main condition of this spiritual bargain: It is God’s will that man should first work sincerely, writes Absatz.
