September in the Penza region: vegetables fell in price, buckwheat and appliances rose in price

According to Rosstat, in September 2026, consumer prices in the Penza region increased by 0.5% by August, and annual inflation reached 6.4%.

Fresh harvest allowed to reduce the cost of vegetables and fruits, while buckwheat rose in price due to the expected decrease in gross harvest. The weakening of the ruble in previous months affected the prices of smartphones, TVs, washing machines and refrigerators. Garden trimmers, on the contrary, became more affordable: with the end of the summer season, stores sold them at discounts.

Prices for educational services have increased noticeably - educational institutions traditionally put in prices the accumulated expenses at the beginning of the year.

Tours in sanatoriums, boarding houses and holiday homes fell in price due to a decrease in demand after the holiday season (Rosstat took into account trips in October-November).

In general, in Russia, annual inflation in September almost did not change - 6.4%; food prices did not rise for the month, non-food products grew more slowly than in August, and services significantly increased due to one-off factors. The Bank of Russia intends to continue to pursue monetary policy for stable low inflation.
