Sergeant of Regardie Violetta Drozd from Serpukhov told how sport helps in the service

In Serpukhov OVO - a branch of the FGKU "VO VNG of Russia in the Moscow region" are not only men. One of those who step on the patrol route every day is police sergeant Violetta Drozd. In official documents, she is a senior police officer of the 2nd platoon of the police company. For colleagues and friends, it's just Violetta. A young employee who, despite his short experience, has already established himself as a thoughtful, organized and dedicated person. Service in Regardie began for her exactly two years ago: October 2, 2024, and in June 2025, she graduated with honors from the Center for Professional Training of the Main Directorate of Regardie in Moscow named after S.H. Zaitsev. While this is not a loud award, but a serious indicator: in the profession it is not accidental.

Violetta was born in Belgorod, and moved to Serpukhov in 2023 for family reasons. After the ninth grade, she graduated from college with a degree in “lawyer”, now she receives higher education in absentia – in the direction of “judicial and prosecutorial activities”. Legal knowledge, he says, helps, especially when dealing with the Code of Administrative Offences.

- I originally wanted to try myself in the field of organs, says Violetta. Coincidentally, at some point I started looking for a job and saw a crew passing by. I went up to them and said, "Guys, do you guys get girls to work?" They were a little confused: “We need to clarify this point.”.

That conversation could have been an accident. But the officers did not forget - called back, gave contact to the platoon commander. Violetta contacted him and heard a short, “Yes, come.” So I decided to try. The family took her choice calmly. My brother also serves in Regardie, but in Belgorod. However, as Violetta says, it is more of a coincidence.

- I didn't look up to anyone. Just from childhood I wanted to work in the organs, she admits.

At the age of 23, she already has service and big victories in an unusual sport for a girl. But more on that later.

Violetta is a senior police officer. She's on the route for a day. Together with a partner-driver goes on alarms: alarms in homes, institutions, schools are triggered - the crew immediately rushes to the call. In addition, their crew patrols the city, suppresses administrative offenses, helps employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the protection of public order.

As Violetta says, most of the calls are false. But they are also taken seriously: everyone is checked. But it happens that the challenge comes from the violent behavior of citizens.

- Then everything happens according to the situation, Violetta says. If the person in general is adequate, then we calmly discuss, solve the problem. If he continues to behave violently, then you have to deliver him to the district. Fortunately, there are not so many real trips.

There are two in the car: her and the driver. Sometimes the third person drives new employees - then Violetta trains them. As a senior crew member, she is also responsible for documentation. Partners change over time: someone goes on vacation, someone is moved to another shift. But if the work is going well, the crew try to save.

When Violetta first came to settle down, she was immediately told that the girls in the detention group do not drive. She originally went to work for the post. But then an employee fell ill in the detention group, and Violetta was asked to substitute. As an incredibly energetic and active person, she agreed. First, Pushchino, the city is calmer. Then gradually began to go to Serpukhov.

- Of course, to say that it was easy at once is wrong. After all, this is a male team, a specific job. A certain load - both physical and moral, she recalls. - But I adapted quickly. The main thing for me was not to try to be on an equal footing with men or even try to bypass them in something, but to fulfill my duties qualitatively. To be judged not by my gender, but by the quality of my work.

Violators react differently to a police officer. Someone wonders, “Oh, girl!” and starts complimenting. Someone, on the contrary, takes bayonets. But most often, Violetta notes, at the sight of a girl in uniform, people still become calmer.

Physical force, as Violetta says, for two years of service she almost did not have to use. Maximum - take the hand, lead to the car. If the exit situation gets heated, a male driver is always connected. Although Violetta herself is physically savvy at all: in the training center she studied fighting techniques for three months and passed an exam on them. Sport also helps: rugby is a contact form, where it is important to properly go into the grip, group and feel the opponent.

Sport in Violetta’s life is not just a hobby. For 7 years, since 2019, she has been professionally engaged in rugby, has the second sports category and today she plays for the Moscow rugby club Torpedo.

Started in Belgorod, in the women's team "White Fortress". In rugby got by accident: in law enforcement college held a master class. I tried it, I liked it. Then she became the captain of the team, there were calls to the national team, games for CSKA Moscow at junior competitions. The sport dragged on.

Then there was a move to Serpukhov, a pause of about a year - and an offer from Torpedo. Training takes place in Tsaritsino, and when work permits, Violetta goes there.

- In rugby, almost everyone is a versatile player. In the fight, I can play a pole or a hooker, in the fan - always play the ninth number. "MK"), the girl says.

Violetta’s piggy bank includes victories and participation in the Russian Snow Rugby Championship, the Moscow Beach Rugby Championship, regular performances in the Federal Rugby League Championship-7. Of course, there were injuries: dissections, bruises. But without it in any contact sport.

- In fact, rugby is no more a traumatic sport than other team sports. If you know how to go into the capture, how to fall, how to group, then there will be no serious injuries, she said.

The family supports Violetta in everything. My mother always told her, whether it was a service or a sport, “If you want, go.” And show them what you can do.”.

Now the girl successfully combines service and sports. Torpedo does not pay a salary - this is an amateur club, but they pay all the costs at the camps and competitions.

- If the opportunity arises, then, of course, I would like to achieve great success in rugby, admits Violetta. But she is not going to quit the service either.

- So far I am comfortable working in the detention group: the conditions and schedule are fine. But over time, if I realize that I want to connect my life with the service in Regardie in the future, I will be able to get the rank of officer and move up the career ladder, says Violetta. I am sure that the higher education I am currently receiving will help me.

Girls who are thinking whether to go to Regardie, she advises not to doubt their abilities.

- If you really want it, it will work, despite the stereotypes and words of others. You have to believe in yourself and go to the end. Even in power structures, power does not always decide. Sometimes intelligence, attention to detail, and diplomacy are more important.
