In the Multidisciplinary Lyceum of Smolensk, the Civil Defense Championship “Emergency Reserve” was held. The head of the city Alexander Novikov said that the event was timed to the 150th anniversary of the Smolensk regional branch of the Russian Red Cross and was held within the framework of the status of “Smolensk – Youth Capital of Russia 2026”.
The competition was attended by students of eight educational institutions. In practice, the students demonstrated vital skills: first aid, evacuation, actions in case of unmanned and missile danger, orientation according to evacuation plans, as well as the use of fire extinguishing and personal protection.
Alexander Novikov especially thanked the Smolensk regional branch of the Russian Red Cross and personally Alexei Maslyany for the organization. The oldest humanitarian organization, which has been helping people for 159 years, is making an invaluable contribution to educating children about safety. According to the head of the city, this is a real work that forms the responsibility and readiness of the younger generation to help. The event was an important step to ensure that children grow up prepared and caring.
