Young people of Belarus continue to perform tasks within the framework of the republican marathon “Dobro.Bel”. The autumn stage of the BRSM initiative is held under the sign of helping people of “golden age”. Volunteer schoolchildren from the Gomel district actively joined the task of “Good.Starshim”, writes sb.by.

We meet the labor troops of the volunteer movement “Good Heart” in the village of Golovintsy at the “school house” – this is the name of a two-storey apartment building, in which veterans of pedagogical labor live right next to the local school, who have devoted many decades to the noble cause of educating the younger generation. The first surprise: all five volunteers are high school students. Where are the boys?
- This is already a "chip" of the Golinsky school. For some reason, it is here that the entire asset consists mainly of girls. In the Year of the Belarusian woman is even symbolic, - the first secretary of the Gomel district committee of BRSM NGO Elena Gubkina philosophically notes.

- There was an empty field. Everything you see around you is created by the hands of teachers and students. That’s why it’s especially nice to see that today’s young people are not afraid to work and strive to help their elders, to maintain in order what we built. I still remember every tree with a seedling. My granddaughter planted a Christmas tree at 4 years old. The tree is now 28 years old. The fact that such actions are alive is wonderful. Even in the Soviet years, we helped the state farm, cultivated plots, laid a square, and much more created with our own hands.

Elena Petrovna has worked as a teacher of Russian language, literature and ethics for almost 40 years. Sometimes she even replaced the school principal. At the age of 81, a veteran of labor and retirement is trying to occupy himself with work, and therefore confidently leads us to his special pride - the beds that are broken right outside the house.
- Everyone has their own garden. We look at each other so that it is not worse than our neighbor. I already dug up the potatoes, I picked the onions. There is still enough strength for this, but not in the yard. Our children have scattered around the world, and if they come several times a year, we are already trying not to burden them with this work, admits Elena Chirkova.

The front of work is defined, and therefore the first thing volunteers bring order to the most remote corners of the yard - near fences and barns. Even near the walls, garbage is carefully swept away so that the view from the windows of apartments really pleases the eye. The final touch was the cleaning of the territory already at the entrances.
- Autumn is still in full swing. The new leaves are attacking, a note of skepticism passes by a neighbor.
The girls respond with a smile:
- So we'll come and clean it up again!

- I have been a volunteer for four years and have participated in dozens of similar events. The work is familiar - I had to help my grandmother in the village and parents in the country. Today we have done another good deed, the result of which was not only harvested foliage, but also those smiles that bloom on the faces of teachers who taught our mothers and fathers. Attention and care is the least we can repay them for their work and for the science on which hundreds of schoolchildren grew up, tenth-grader Maria Khodkova shares her opinion about the action.

Volunteers note that for the future, an impressive list of applications has already been formed from those who need this or that help on the household. So, next week, youth labor troops from the Gomel district will go to the village of Profitka, where BRSM activists will help the elderly with the procurement of firewood.
